Colin Edwards - Principal

Having studied environmental science and architecture at Harvard and Dalhousie, Colin co-founded Edwards and Quarrie Restoration with a view to combining heritage preservation and environmental sustainability.  Following a career as a professional triathlete, Colin worked in Boston for a restoration carpentry company before settling in Lunenburg in 2007.  Since then he has restored residences ranging from Colonial-era Capes to high-Victorian Lunenburg sea-captains' houses to ultra-modern Kingsburg residences, in addition to building new homes in historically-accurate styles. Whether a restoration or a new build, Colin has a keen focus on green-building practices as well as a strong traditional design aesthetic.

Brad Quarrie - Principal

Brad grew up and studied Graphic Design in small-town Ontario before spending 15 years at major design firms in Toronto.  Following the births of three children and one epic house restoration in the city, Brad decided to move his young family to Lunenburg and a more peaceful way of life.  He also decided to turn his passion into a job and co-founded Edwards and Quarrie Restoration with a plan to bring high-quality millwork and cabinet-making to a new audience.  Since then he has gone on to create bespoke kitchens, custom cabinetry for retail spaces, traditional mortise-and-tenon doors and windows and much more.  Brad also produces all manner of architectural drawing and design work, enabling Edwards and Quarrie Restoration to be a true design-build firm.

Joel Carr - Lead Carpenter

With a degree in Philosophy and Fine Arts from Mount Allison University, Joel brings a perspective and aesthetic not commonly found in the trades.  His determination to be the best carpenter possible shines through in all his work as he constantly seeks ways to improve building techniques while maintaining respect for the work of the old-time craftsmen he so ably emulates.
